Cape Sebastian

Cape Sebastian is a rugged, scenic surf area on the southern Oregon coast, just south of Gold Beach in the North West region of the USA. It’s known more for its dramatic coastline and remote feel than for being a beginner-friendly, everyday break.

• Exposure: Open to Pacific swell, so it can pick up solid surf when conditions line up.
• Wave type: Typically a beachbreak/rocky coastline mix in the broader area, with conditions heavily shaped by sand movement and local reef/rock features.
• Power: Can get powerful and cold, especially during larger winter swells.
• Crowds: Usually uncrowded compared with more famous Oregon surf spots, due to the remote access and variable conditions.

Conditions

• Best swell: Generally works best with southwest to northwest swells, depending on the exact beach or cove you’re checking.
