Otter Rock

Otter Rock, Oregon (Northwest U.S.) is a scenic surf break on the central/north Oregon coast, known more for its rugged beauty and consistent Pacific energy than for easy, mellow waves.

What it’s like

• Type of break: Mainly a beachbreak / reef-influenced break around the Otter Rock area
• Wave character: Often powerful, cold, and punchy, with more winter size and energy than summer
• Best conditions: Usually works best with west/northwest swell and light offshore wind from the east
• Skill level: Generally intermediate to advanced depending on swell, tide, and sand movement
