Kewalo's

Kewalo’s is a classic urban reef break on the south shore of Oahu, Hawaii, just west of Waikiki in Honolulu. It’s one of the island’s most recognizable longboard and beginner-friendly waves when conditions are right.

What it’s like

• Type: Reef break, sometimes with multiple peaks
• Best for: Longboarding, intermediate surfers, and beginners on smaller days
• Wave character: Usually a clean, peeling right-hand point-style wave with manageable sections, though it can also offer lefts depending on the sand and swell
• Bottom: Shallow reef, so it can get sharp and fast
