Bellows

Bellows Beach is a scenic surf spot on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii, near Waimanalo and Bellows Air Force Station. It’s known for its beautiful white sand beach, clear turquoise water, and a more relaxed local feel compared with some of Oahu’s better-known breaks.

• Wave quality: Can be playful and fun, but usually less powerful and less consistent than major reef breaks
• Conditions: Works best with the right combo of swell and wind; can be affected by trade winds and shifting sandbars

What it’s like

Bellows often has smaller, mellower waves than Oahu’s North Shore, making it a good place for longboards, soft-top learners, and casual surf sessions when conditions line up. When a swell fills in, it can offer clean, rideable peaks, but the surf tends to be less predictable because it’s a beach break.

• Hazards: Like any beach break, be aware of shorebreak, changing sandbars, and currents
