Packery Channel

Packery Channel is a surf spot on the Texas Gulf Coast, near Corpus Christi on North Padre Island. It’s a jetty and inlet break that can produce some of the more consistent waves in South Texas when Gulf swell, wind, and tide line up.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Mainly sandbar and jetty-assisted waves
• Best conditions: Usually works best with a solid Gulf swell, often paired with offshore or light wind
• Tide sensitivity: Can change a lot with the tide; some days it’s best at mid to incoming tide
• Wave quality: Typically short-period, choppy Gulf waves, though it can occasionally offer cleaner, faster peaks
