Venice North Jetty

Venice North Jetty is one of the better-known surf breaks on Florida’s Gulf Coast, located in Venice, Florida at the inlet jetty near the Venice Inlet. It’s a jettied beach break / inlet break that can produce some of the most consistent and powerful surf in the region when the conditions line up.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Short-period Gulf swell, often a punchy, fun, sometimes hollow wave near the jetty.
• Bottom: Mostly sand, with the jetty structure helping shape waves and create better-defined peaks.
• Best conditions: Usually works best with clean winds and a swell direction that wraps into the inlet.
• Consistency: Not always on, but when the Gulf wakes up it can be one of the go-to spots in Southwest Florida.
• Crowds: Can get crowded, especially on good days, since it’s a well-known local favorite.

• Beginner to advanced depending on size and crowd.
• In smaller surf it can be friendly enough for less experienced surfers, but when it’s bigger or fast near the jetty, it demands more control and awareness.

Venice North Jetty is a classic Florida Gulf Coast surf spot: not as consistent as ocean-facing coasts, but capable of producing some very good, rippable waves when the wind and swell cooperate.
