Coronado Silver Strand State Beach

Coronado Silver Strand State Beach is a long, sandy stretch on the narrow isthmus between San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean, just south of Coronado. It’s a scenic, relatively undeveloped beach with a classic Southern California feel and wide open views.

Conditions and character

Because it’s a sand-bottom beach break, the surf is highly variable—bars move with storms and seasons, so the same section may be excellent one week and poor the next. Some days it’s clean and playful; other days it’s closeout-heavy.
