Kata Noi

Kata Noi, Phuket, Thailand is a small, scenic bay on the southwest coast of Phuket, just south of Kata Beach. It’s best known more for its beauty and relaxed vibe than for heavy surf, but it can offer fun, beginner-friendly waves when the right swell and wind line up, especially during the southwest monsoon season (roughly May to October).

Kata Noi is a short, picturesque beach with soft sand and a tropical setting. The waves tend to break in a mellow way, making it a decent spot for learners or surf travelers looking to enjoy easy sessions rather than powerful surf. Because it’s a relatively open bay, conditions can change quickly with tides, wind, and seasonal swell.

Crowd and atmosphere

The beach is usually more laid-back and less crowded than some of Phuket’s more famous beaches. That said, when surf is up, local surfers, surf schools, and visitors may all be in the water.
