Devil's Horn

Devil’s Horn is a powerful, less-talked-about surf spot on South Africa’s Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape. It’s part of that rugged, remote stretch of coastline known for dramatic cliffs, rolling green hills, and long, exposed point-and-beach setups.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Typically a fast, punchy left-hand break with real power when the swell lines up.
• Consistency: It can be very good when a solid Southern Ocean swell meets favorable wind, but like many Wild Coast spots, it’s highly tide- and swell-dependent.
• Wave quality: When on, it can offer clean, hollow, and rippable walls with sections that challenge even experienced surfers.
• Best conditions: Usually a southerly or offshore breeze with a well-formed swell. Smaller swells may not light it up as well.
