What it’s like

Off The Wall can produce quality lefts and rights depending on the conditions, but it tends to be more famous for its powerful, challenging waves. When it’s on, the wave can throw out a nice wall and offer long, down-the-line rides, but it can also get very critical and unforgiving because of the reef setup.

Best time to surf

Cape Town’s winter months are usually the most consistent for swell, so May to August often gives the best chance of good waves. That said, conditions can change quickly, and you’ll want to check swell direction, tide, and wind carefully.
