Llandudno

Llandudno is one of Cape Town’s most scenic surf spots, set below the rocky slopes of Table Mountain National Park on the Atlantic Seaboard. It’s a beautiful, fairly secluded beach with big granite boulders, soft white sand, and a dramatic, upscale coastal setting.

• Wave type: Mostly a beach and reef break with powerful Atlantic swell.
• Best swell: Works best on solid W to SW swells, especially when the swell has enough size and consistency.

Llandudno can offer clean, punchy lefts and rights when the swell lines up, with a fairly raw Atlantic feel. It’s not a beginner-friendly, soft-rolling wave most of the time — the surf tends to be more serious and ocean-energized.
