Atlantis

Atlantis is a surf spot on the Russian side of the Gulf of Finland (often called the Finnish Bay), near St. Petersburg. It’s one of the better-known Nordic/Russian Baltic Sea surf locations, where waves are generated mainly by strong low-pressure systems and autumn–winter storms.

What it’s like

Atlantis can produce short-period, choppy, but rideable waves when the Baltic is firing. Because the Gulf of Finland is semi-enclosed, waves are usually smaller and less consistent than open-ocean surf, but local storms can still create solid sessions. Conditions can change quickly with wind direction, and good surf often comes with cold, harsh weather.
