Pointe du Diable (Evil Peak)

Pointe du Diable (Evil Peak) in Réunion is one of the island’s better-known surf spots, located on the west coast near Saint-Leu / Saint-Pierre area depending on local naming usage. It’s an exposed reef break that can produce powerful, fast waves when swell and conditions line up.

• Best on: Solid SW/W swells with favorable wind, usually light offshore or calm conditions

Pointe du Diable is known for having a steep takeoff and waves that can open up into fast walls or sections suited for turns when the reef and swell cooperate. On bigger days, it can become more serious and demanding, rewarding surfers who are comfortable in heavy reef environments.

Réunion generally gets its best surf during the Austral winter months (roughly May to September), when Southern Ocean swells are more frequent and consistent.
