Boucan Right

Boucan Right is a well-known right-hand reef break on the west coast of Réunion Island, near Boucan Canot. It’s one of the more popular and accessible waves on the island, drawing local surfers when conditions line up.

Wave characteristics

Boucan Right tends to work best with the right swell direction and moderate trade-wind conditions. When it’s on, it can offer: - long, wrapping right-hand rides - sections for carving and some turn setup - a punchy takeoff, especially on bigger swells - hollow or critical sections when the reef is exposed and the wave is larger

Because it breaks over reef, the wave can be fairly technical and unforgiving, especially at lower tides or on bigger days.
