Sao Torpes

São Torpes, Portugal (South / Alentejo coast) is a well-known surf beach break near Sines, on Portugal’s southwest coast. It’s one of the more reliable and accessible spots in the region, especially for beginners to intermediate surfers.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Mostly a beach break with sandbanks
• Best conditions: Works best with west to northwest swells and light east/offshore winds
• Wave quality: Can be very fun and clean, but the sandbanks shift a lot, so conditions change frequently
• Wave size: Usually manageable, but it can handle bigger swells on the right day
