Burrinho

Burrinho, Portugal (South) is a lesser-known surf spot along the southern Portuguese coast, offering a more local and often quieter alternative to the famous Algarve breaks.

General character

• Type: Beach/reef setup depending on the exact area and sand movement
• Wave quality: Can be fun and punchy when conditions line up, but it’s generally more variable than the marquee spots in the region
• Crowd: Usually lighter than well-known nearby breaks, especially outside peak holiday periods
• Best for: Intermediate surfers looking for a less crowded session; can also work for advanced surfers when swell is solid

Conditions
