Praia Grande

Praia Grande (Portugal, Central Lisboa) is one of the best-known surf beaches in the Sintra–Lisbon area, set on a wide sandy bay backed by cliffs. It’s an exposed Atlantic beach break that can produce powerful, consistent waves, especially when a solid swell runs up the coast.

The beach is long and scenic, with plenty of space and dramatic cliffs around the bay. It’s a popular destination for surfers, bodyboarders, and beachgoers, and it’s usually less urban than the city beaches near Lisbon itself.
