Conchan (Lima, Peru) is a classic surf spot on Lima’s southern coastline, known for its consistent Pacific swell and gritty, urban-coastal vibe.

Overview

• Location: Conchán, in the Villa El Salvador / Lurín area south of Lima
• Wave type: Mostly a beachbreak
• Best for: Intermediate to advanced surfers, depending on conditions
• Vibe: Local, less polished than some Lima breaks, with a raw coastal feel

Waves

Conchán usually offers peaky, fast-breaking waves that can be punchy when the swell is right. Because it’s a beachbreak, the peaks can shift with sand movement, so the quality changes over time. On a good day, it can produce fun, hollow sections and workable shoulders.

Conditions

• Swell: Handles Pacific swells well, especially from the south/southwest
• Wind: Like many Lima spots, it often works best with light morning winds before the afternoon onshore breeze
• Tide: Can be tide-sensitive; mid tides are often a good starting point

Crowd and atmosphere

Conchán is generally less touristy than the more famous Lima surf zones like Punta Hermosa, though it can still get busy when conditions line up. The area has a more industrial/coastal appearance, so it feels more functional than scenic, but that also means fewer crowds than the most popular breaks.
