Asia del Mar

Asia del Mar, Peru (Lima region) is a beach break located south of Lima near the coastal town of Asia. It’s a popular summer surf area with a relaxed resort-town vibe, especially when Pacific swells line up.

Surf characteristics

• Wave type: Mostly beach break, with shifting sandbars
• Best for: Beginners to intermediate surfers, depending on swell size
• Wave quality: Can be fun and playful on the right swell, but conditions can change quickly because of the sandy bottom
• Swell exposure: Picks up consistent South and Southwest Pacific swells
• Wind: Usually best in early morning before onshore winds kick in

• Water temperature: Cool, typically requiring a wetsuit most of the year
