Roka Beach is a lesser-known Central Peruvian surf spot with a laid-back, local feel and consistent Pacific swell exposure. The wave setup can offer fun, peaky surf when conditions align, especially with favorable swell direction and light winds. Like many beaches on Peru’s central coast, it can produce fast, punchy waves that suit intermediate to advanced surfers depending on the day.
The area is typically best during the Southern Hemisphere winter months (May–September), when swells are more reliable and the surf is generally cleaner. Water is cold due to the Humboldt Current, so a wetsuit is usually necessary.
Because it’s not one of the region’s most famous breaks, Roka Beach may be less crowded than nearby headline spots, but conditions can change quickly with sand movement, tide, and swell size. It’s a good option for surfers looking to explore a more quiet stretch of Peru’s central coastline.
