Toro’s (Papua New Guinea) is a remote, tropical surf spot known for its powerful reef break and uncrowded waves. Located on the north coast of Papua New Guinea, it offers a mix of long, hollow rights and lefts depending on swell direction and reef conditions. The wave can get very good during the dry season, when consistent SW swells and favorable winds line up, producing fast, punchy walls and occasional barrels over shallow coral.
Because it’s a reef break in a remote area, Toro’s is generally best suited to experienced surfers who are comfortable surfing over sharp reef and handling potentially heavy surf. Access is often by boat or through local surf charters, and the setting is typically lush, isolated, and less developed than many mainstream surf destinations.
