Green Meadows

Green Meadows is a surf spot on the West Coast of Taranaki, on New Zealand’s North Island. It sits in one of the country’s most exposed west-facing swell corridors, so it can pick up consistent ocean energy and deliver punchy surf when conditions line up.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Typically a beachbreak/reef-influenced coastal break depending on the exact section and sand movement.
• Exposure: Very open to west and southwest swells, which means it can get solid and powerful.
• Wind: Best with light offshore or calm conditions; like much of Taranaki’s west coast, onshore winds can quickly make it messy.
• Tide sensitivity: Usually changes a lot with the tide, so local knowledge helps.
