Raglan - Whale Bay

Raglan – Whale Bay is one of New Zealand’s most famous surf breaks, located on the west coast of the North Island near the town of Raglan. Despite the “West Coast Auckland” label sometimes used in surf directories, it’s actually in the Waikato region, southwest of Auckland.

Whale Bay is known for its consistent lefts wrapping around the rocky point and peeling along the reef. When conditions line up, it offers: - Long, clean walls - Fun, fast sections - Occasional barrels on bigger swells - A ride that can be very forgiving compared with more hollow, technical reefs

• Swell: Best with solid west to southwest swells
• Wind: East to southeast offshore winds are ideal
• Tide: Often works best around mid to high tide, depending on swell size
• Size: Handles a range of surf, but can get powerful and heavy when big

Vibe
