Mt Maunganui is a classic North Island New Zealand surf destination, best known for its exposed beachbreaks on the ocean side of the Mount. It’s one of the more iconic and accessible surf areas in the Bay of Plenty, with a long sandy shoreline, reliable swell exposure, and plenty of local surf activity.
