Dumbéa Right

Dumbéa Right is a well-known surf spot on the west coast of New Caledonia, near the Dumbéa area just outside Nouméa. It’s a reef break that gets its shape from the offshore reefs in the lagoon, producing a clean right-hand wave when the conditions line up.

Dumbéa Right tends to perform best when there’s enough swell to wrap into the reef but not so much that it becomes overly wild. On the right tide and with clean conditions, it can produce long right-hand walls with some barreling sections. Like many reef breaks, it can be sharp and shallow, so reef awareness is important.
