Los pinos

Los Pinos is a surf spot on the Pacific coast of Mexico, in the Sinaloa–Nayarit region. It’s generally known as a beach break exposed to Pacific swell, so the waves can be fun and workable when conditions line up, especially during the south and southwest swell seasons.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Mostly beach break, with shifting peaks
• Best for: Intermediate surfers, though smaller days can suit beginners
• Crowds: Usually lighter than famous Mexican surf towns, depending on access and season
• Vibe: More local and less developed than big-name surf destinations

Conditions

• Wind: Often best in the morning before onshore breezes pick up
• Tide: Can be tide-dependent; mid tide is often a good starting point
