Monuments, Baja Sur, Mexico is a famous right-hand point break near Cabo San Lucas at the southern tip of Baja California Sur. It’s one of the region’s best-known surf spots, sitting on the Pacific side where the desert coastline meets powerful open-ocean swell.

Conditions

Monuments works best when there’s a solid swell with the right angle and a clean wind. On smaller days it can be fun and more manageable, but when a bigger swell fills in, the wave can get very fast and demanding. It’s generally a spot for surfers who are comfortable with speed, takeoff precision, and some risk from the reef.
