Backdoor, Sicily is a powerful, often hollow reef break on the north coast of Sicily, best known as a heavy right-hand wave that can deliver steep takeoffs, fast walls, and barrel sections when the swell is right. Despite the name, it’s not “in Italy” in the mainland sense—it’s in the Mediterranean surf zone, where conditions are highly dependent on storm systems and local wind.
