S'Archittu

S’Archittu is a scenic surf spot on the west coast of Sardinia, Italy — not Sicily. It’s known for the famous natural limestone arch in the water and its dramatic coastline, which makes it one of the most picturesque wave spots in the Mediterranean.

Surf conditions

• Wave type: Mostly a reef/rock break with a few nearby sections that can work on different swell directions.
• Best swell: Solid W to NW swell tends to bring the best waves.
• Wind: Offshore or light E/NE winds are usually best.
• Wave quality: Can be surprisingly powerful and fun when the swell lines up, but it’s highly dependent on conditions.

What to expect

• When it’s on: Clean, hollow-to-walled waves that can offer good rides, especially for experienced surfers.
• When it’s small: It may be mellow or inconsistent, and not always breaking with enough size.
• Crowds: Can get busy during good swells, especially with local surfers and bodyboarders.
