Keel Beach is one of the best-known surf spots on Ireland’s west coast, located on the south side of Achill Island in County Mayo. It’s a long, exposed Atlantic beach break backed by dunes and cliffs, with a wild, scenic setting and reliable swell exposure.

Because it’s a beach break, conditions can change quickly with tides, sandbars, and storm activity. On bigger days it can become strong and challenging, with heavy rips and lots of water movement.
