West Strand is a beach break that can light up nicely with NE to E swell, especially when there’s a clean offshore or side-off wind. It tends to offer peaky waves with decent shape on the right sandbanks, making it a good option for both beginners and intermediates when the surf is smaller, and more fun for experienced surfers when the swell is up.

Because it’s a sand-bottom beach break, conditions can change with the tide and sand movement, so the best banks may shift over time. NE/E swell usually brings the most energy into the spot, though it can get punchy and less organized if the wind or tide is off. On a clean day, it can deliver fun, reasonably consistent waves and is worth checking for a session.
