Ombak Tujuh

Ombak Tujuh is one of Indonesia’s most famous heavy-wave surf spots, located off the coast of Ujung Genteng, West Java, within the Ujung Kulon / Alas Purwo-type remote south coast surf zone of Java’s Indian Ocean-facing shoreline. Despite the name meaning “Seven Waves” in Indonesian, it is best known for producing powerful, hollow, world-class reef breaks that can be extremely challenging.

Ombak Tujuh is not an easy casual surf trip destination. Reaching it typically involves traveling to the remote southern coast of West Java, often as part of a surf trip centered around Ujung Genteng. The area has a more relaxed, remote, and undeveloped feel compared to Bali or other mainstream surf destinations.
