Super Suck

Super Suck (Sumbawa, Indonesia) is one of Sumbawa’s most famous heavy reef waves—a fast, powerful, and highly mechanical left-hand point/reef break that’s known for hollow sections and long, makeable barrels when conditions line up.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Left-hand reef break / point-style wave
• Character: Fast, steep, and critical, with a very “wedgy” takeoff that can immediately throw into a tube
• Best for: Experienced to expert surfers only
• Main attraction: Long, hollow barrels and a strong, predictable shape on the right swell

Conditions

• Swell: Performs best on a solid SW–S swell with enough power to wrap around the reef
• Wind: Offshore or light winds are ideal; local trade winds can help if they’re favorable
• Tide: Often best around mid to lower tide, but tide preference can vary depending on swell size and the exact section
