Birdbaths

Birdbaths is a well-known reef break in the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia, prized for its fast, hollow left-hand waves and tropical setting. It’s one of those classic Indo spots that can light up with long, barreling sections when the swell and tide line up.

Like many Mentawai breaks, Birdbaths is set in a stunning tropical environment with clear water and reef beneath. The beauty of the spot contrasts with how serious the wave can get. It’s not usually considered a beginner-friendly wave because the takeoff is often steep and the reef is shallow.
