Puri's point

Puri’s Point, Lombok, Indonesia is a quality right-hand reef break on the island’s south coast, known for being more powerful and consistent than many of the nearby beach breaks. It’s usually a reef break with a clean point-style shape, peeling over a shallow reef and offering long, fast walls when the swell lines up.

What to expect

• Best for: Intermediate to advanced surfers
• Size: Works best on small to medium south swells, but can get punchy with more energy
• Shape: Often offers a smooth takeoff, then a fast, running face with chances for turns and sections to race down the line
• Conditions: Best with light offshores or low wind, and cleaner swell periods

Surf character

Puri’s Point tends to be a more drawn-out, rippable wave rather than a heavy barrel spot. On the right tides and swell direction, it can give longer rides with sectiony walls that reward good positioning and speed generation. Because it’s reef-based, it can be sharp and unforgiving at lower tides.

Crowd and vibe

Compared with some of Lombok’s more famous breaks, it’s often less crowded, though that can change when conditions are good. The vibe is generally laid-back, with a mix of locals and traveling surfers.

• Reef exposure: Wear booties if you’re sensitive to reef cuts or entering in shallow water
• Tide sensitivity: Can change a lot with tide level; some tides may make it too shallow or too fast
