Belongas

Belongas, Lombok, Indonesia is a powerful, remote reef break known for being one of the more serious waves in the region. It sits on the southwest coast of Lombok and is exposed to Indian Ocean swell, which gives it plenty of size and energy, especially during the dry season.

What it’s like

• Wave type: Fast, heavy reef break with a hollow, sometimes barreling left-hand wave.
• Power: Advanced to expert only. The wave can be shallow, strong, and unforgiving.
• Best conditions: Typically works best with the right swell angle, light winds, and moderate to large southwest swell.
• Crowd level: Usually less crowded than Bali’s famous breaks, partly because it’s more remote and challenging.
