Apollonas, Naxos, Greece (Aegean Sea) is a small, scenic bay on the north coast of Naxos, better known for its relaxed village atmosphere than for heavy surf. It can still offer fun wind-driven waves and beach-break conditions when the Aegean gets active.

• Type: Mostly a small beach break / swell-exposed bay
• Best for: Intermediate to advanced surfers on the right day; also suitable for bodyboarders and wave riders
• Wave character: Typically short-period wind swell, often a bit inconsistent, with the best shape when local wind and swell line up
• Bottom: Generally sand with some mixed seabed areas near the edges
• Exposure: Open enough to pick up north and northeast energy, though conditions are strongly affected by wind

• Best wind: S / SW offshore or light winds
• Less ideal winds: Strong northerlies can make it choppy and disorganized
• Season: Most reliable in autumn, winter, and early spring when the Aegean sees stronger storm activity

What to expect

• Clean days can produce rideable, fun peaks rather than long, powerful waves.
• On bigger swells, the bay may get bumpier and more powerful, but it’s generally not a major big-wave location.
• Because it’s a village beach, the vibe is usually relaxed and uncrowded, with a nice coastal setting.
