Le Rozel

Le Rozel is a surf spot on the Cotentin Peninsula in Normandy, northwest France, set on a rugged stretch of coastline with cliffs, open Atlantic exposure, and a wilder feel than many French beach breaks.

What it’s like

Conditions

Le Rozel can produce fast, punchy waves with good shape when sandbanks line up. Because it’s exposed and open to Atlantic swell, it can get strong currents, closeouts, and choppy conditions if the wind is not favorable. Offshore winds are generally from the east or southeast, while the best surfing conditions are usually on a clean westerly or southwest swell with light wind.

It’s a more natural, less crowded surf setting compared with famous southwest France spots. You’ll get a remote, scenic Normandy coastline with dramatic weather, wide tidal range, and a raw surf vibe.
