Le Penon

Le Penon is a well-known beachbreak surf spot on the Landes coast in southwest France, in the town of Seignosse. It’s part of the long Atlantic stretch famous for consistent sandbar waves and a strong surf culture.

What it’s like

Le Penon can produce solid, punchy waves that suit intermediate to advanced surfers, though there are often peaks for all levels depending on sand placement and size. Because it’s an exposed beachbreak, conditions can change quickly and the spot can become closeout-prone when it gets too big or the banks are poor.
