Pradomar

Pradomar (Barranquilla area, Colombian Caribbean) is a beachbreak surf spot on Colombia’s northern coast, just west of Barranquilla in Puerto Colombia. It’s one of the better-known accessible breaks in the region and can be a fun, reliable option when the Caribbean is delivering swell.

What it’s like

• Type: Mostly a sandy beachbreak
• Wave quality: Can range from playful and soft to punchy and hollow on the right swell
• Best for: Beginner to intermediate surfers, though stronger days can suit advanced surfers too
• Crowds: Often busy, especially on weekends and when conditions are good

Conditions

• Swell: Works best with consistent Caribbean swell, usually during the more active season and when distant storm systems send energy south
• Wind: Like many Caribbean breaks, it’s better with light winds or favorable offshore conditions; strong onshore wind can quickly make it messy
• Tide: Tide can matter a lot on beachbreaks here—some tides produce better shape and cleaner peaks than others
