La Izquierda (Spanish Left), Tenerife is one of the island’s best-known heavy reef breaks, located on the southwest coast near Las Américas / El Médano area depending on local reference, and famous for its fast, powerful left-hand waves breaking over volcanic rock.

What it’s like

Wave type: fast left point/reef break
Power: strong, hollow, and often unforgiving
Best for: experienced surfers comfortable with reef breaks and quick takeoffs
Character: can produce long, clean lefts with good shape, especially on the right swell direction and tide

Conditions

Works best with a solid Atlantic swell
