Soledad

Soledad, Gran Canaria is a bumpy, reef- and rock-influenced surf spot on the island’s exposed north/west side, suited more to experienced surfers than beginners. It’s typically known for being powerful, shallow, and inconsistent but rewarding when swell and wind line up.

What to expect

• Wave type: Mostly a reef/rock break with punchy, fast sections.
• Quality: Can deliver clean, hollow-to-bouncy walls on the right swell, but it’s not always easy or forgiving.
• Best swell: Usually responds to NW–N swell.
• Best wind: Light offshore or cross-offshore conditions are ideal; strong winds can make it messy quickly.
• Tide: Often works better around mid tide, but exact behavior depends on the sand/reef setup and swell size.

• Best for: Intermediate to advanced surfers who are comfortable with reef breaks and heavy takeoffs.
