The Bubble is one of Fuerteventura’s more serious reef breaks, located on the northwest coast near Canary / Cotillo area. It’s known for its powerful, hollow waves and can produce fast, shallow sections that break over sharp reef, so it’s generally suited to experienced surfers only.

What it’s like

Wave type: Fast reef break
Power: Strong and heavy when it’s on
Shape: Can offer steep takeoffs, barrels, and quick walls
Crowd: Usually less crowded than the main beginner beaches, but can attract good surfers when conditions line up

Conditions

Best swell: Works best with a solid northwest swell
Wind: Offshore or light easterly winds are ideal
Tide: Tide can make a big difference; certain tides may make it too shallow and dangerous
Hazards: Sharp reef, shallow entry/exit, strong water movement, and occasional wipeout risk

The area around Cotillo is more relaxed and rugged than the busier resort zones in Fuerteventura, with volcanic coastline, dramatic surf scenery, and a strong surf culture.
