Punta Gorda

Punta Gorda, Fuerteventura (Canary Islands) is a rocky point-and-reef surf spot on the island’s north/northeast coast, known for its powerful Atlantic swell and more serious conditions than the island’s easier beach breaks.

What to expect

• Works best with consistent swell and a clean wind direction
• Can break lefts and rights depending on the spot setup and sand/reef contours
• Tides can matter a lot, with some sections becoming too shallow at low tide

Vibe

Compared with the more famous surf zones in Fuerteventura, Punta Gorda tends to feel a bit more raw and less forgiving. It’s a good spot if you’re looking for a more powerful wave and are comfortable surfacing in rocky, exposed conditions.
