La Pared is one of Fuerteventura’s better-known surf spots, located on the west coast near the village of La Pared. It’s a scenic, more exposed Atlantic beach-break area with a raw, open-ocean feel.

Quick description

  • Wave type: Mostly beach break
  • Exposure: Very exposed to Atlantic swell
  • Best swell: Works best with west to northwest swell
  • Wind: Typically prefers east or northeast offshore winds
  • Ability level: Often intermediate to advanced, though conditions can vary
  • Crowd: Can get busy when it’s firing, but usually less packed than major mainland breaks

What it’s like

La Pared is known for: - Powerful waves when swell is running - Fast, punchy sections - Long sandy beach with lots of space - A wild, dramatic coastline and strong ocean energy

Because it faces the open Atlantic, it can get big and challenging quickly, and currents can be strong. On smaller days it can be a fun, manageable beach break; on larger swells it becomes much more serious.

Good to know

  • Best for surfers comfortable in powerful beach breaks
  • Watch the currents and rips
  • Conditions can change fast with wind and tide
  • Not ideal for complete beginners when the surf is up
