Silistar is one of Bulgaria’s best-known surf and beach spots on the southern Black Sea coast, near the border with Turkey and inside the Strandzha nature area. It’s a long, scenic, sandy beach backed by dunes, forest, and protected countryside, giving it a much more natural and open feel than many of Bulgaria’s resort beaches.

For surfing, Silistar is mainly a wind and wave spot rather than a classic ocean surf destination. Conditions depend heavily on Black Sea weather and swell, so it’s not a consistently powerful surf break, but when storms and the right winds line up, it can produce rideable waves and attract local surfers, bodyboarders, and wind sports riders. It’s also popular for stand-up paddleboarding, kitesurfing, and windsurfing when conditions suit.

A few highlights: - Scenic, undeveloped setting with clear water and sandy bottom - Good for beach days and water sports when weather is favorable - Best in bigger wind/swell periods, especially outside the calm summer flat spells - More of a relaxed, natural surf area than a crowded surf town
