Quintão

Quintão is a surf spot on the coast of Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil, near the municipality of Palmares do Sul. It’s part of the long, sandy stretch of the Gaúcho coast along the Atlantic, known for its exposed beachbreaks and strong southern swells.

What it’s like

Quintão tends to be a raw, open-coast surf zone rather than a highly groomed, reliable point or reef break. Because it’s a beachbreak, the peaks can move around, and the quality depends a lot on sand movement, swell angle, and tide. On the right day, it can produce good, punchy waves with decent size and shape.

The best surf season is generally during the Australian winter and spring: - May to September: More frequent and stronger southern groundswell - Storm systems in the South Atlantic can bring bigger surf, though conditions may be rough
