Passo de Torres

Passo de Torres is a surf spot in the far south of Brazil, right on the border with Santa Catarina, at the mouth of the Mampituba River near Torres. It’s in Rio Grande do Sul, and is known more as a coastal beachbreak/rivermouth zone than a highly consistent classic reef or point break.

• Wave type: Mostly sandbar beachbreak, with conditions influenced by the river mouth and shifting sandbanks.
• Wave quality: Can be fun when sandbars line up, but it’s usually inconsistent and changes with tides, swell direction, and recent storms.
