Shore Break – “Expresso Escorpião” (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

“Expresso Escorpião” is one of Rio’s intense shore break surf spots: a fast, hollow, punchy wave that throws close to the sand and can be very powerful. In Rio de Janeiro, shore breaks are often found on open beaches exposed to Atlantic swell, where the wave breaks in shallow water and can create barrels, steep drops, and heavy wipeouts.
