Macumba (Curvão)

Macumba (Curvão) is a classic Rio de Janeiro beachbreak on the city’s west side, in Recreio dos Bandeirantes / Praia da Macumba. It’s one of the most consistent surf zones in Rio, with waves breaking over sandbanks and offering a mix of fun peaks, fast sections, and the occasional hollow line when the swell and sand align.
